Bearers of the Cross

I am in a video posting mood lately. Here is one that attempts to explain the practice of the Good Friday crucifixions in San Fernando, Pampanga. Be warned that the video is highly graphic, and I would recommend caution in watching it.

Wow. This is a great find. I've seen clips and photos but this is very weel done. A far cry from Sinulog!

Thank you! I've actually been meaning to post this video for a long time now but always found reason to delay it. Personally, I remain ambivalent to the whole tradition... And I'll definitely write about Sinulog/Santo Nino soon-- I've been reading about its history for a while now and there are many interesting facets to this devotion. The circumstances in which the Spaniards found it among the Cebuanos, particularly, offers a lot of interesting material and insights :)
